Representatives from EOS, Telos, WAX, and UX continue to meet on a weekly basis. The bi-weekly reports and weekly meeting videos were temporarily on pause as several rebranding details were being resolved internally. At the same time, members from three of the four coalition teams were attending Consensus2022 in Austin, Texas.
It’s been a busy few weeks and the coalition now resumes its regular cadence of recorded meetings and reports as it continues to ramp up operations and prepare for what’s next!
The Rebranding of EOSIO
The question on everyone’s mind. What is the new brand identity through which EOSIO will at last be embodied as a collaborative, community led, open-source codebase that provides a secure and highly performant solution for enterprise and end-user alike.
A new name has been selected, the IP is mostly secured, and there is an additional brand and logo process underway. Further market research was commissioned and the results have served to bolster the initial findings of the brand working group. Coalition members are highly motivated to align under a new banner, and the target is now mid to late July for a full brand reveal.
The ecosystem deserves a well considered, strategic rebrand, and much appreciation is owed to the community for their patience while all the details are sorted out. We’re all excited to embark on the next phase of this journey.
Request for Proposals (RFP) – Responses and Questions
The EOSIO Coalition officially published the Faster Finality, and Wallet SDK RFPs on May 23rd. Per the published schedule, the deadline for responses to be submitted is Friday June 24th, and business is to be awarded by July 1st.
UX Network submitted the sole bid for Faster Finality, and Greymass sought additional clarification for the scope of the Wallet SDK during the latest EOSIO Coalition call. The Greymass team is intending to follow up with a formal response by the June 24th deadline.
Scalability+ Blue Paper Draft Under Review
With EOSIO already at the forefront of blockchain performance, the Scalability+ Working Group has stepped up efforts to ensure that EOSIO based networks will continue scaling to meet the demands of high throughput Web3 applications that can reach mass adoption.
The Blue Paper is being co-authored by Guillaume Babin-Tremblay (UX Network), Lukas Sliwka (WAX), and Areg Hayrapetian (ENF). A strong first draft is currently under review and encompasses a thorough analysis of the current state of the EOSIO protocol, while advancing proposals for Faster Finality, Trustless Cross-Chain IBC, and RAM Limitation Fixes.
